About Us
Our Why
MapWorldLive came about when we found that many people wanted to know what local events be going on near them, and what else of interest might be there. There seemed to be ready information about the bigger events that could afford publicity, but little of local significance.
We all seem to be gradually losing our sense of community. By sharing things with others, we can gain more satisfaction, achievement and pleasure.
Today, we are all trying to do more with the same time in the week. We have pressures to perform well and get results. It is also becoming more difficult and expensive for us to travel as widely as we might like. We are also becoming more conscious of the importance of our local communities.
Businesses and Organisations are finding this increasingly important, due to increasing costs and competition. Showing how local they are to customers when they are looking locally gives that edge. It encourages them to discover. Their search by interest highlights any local offers, events or activities that relate directly to thier needs.
MapWorldLive is carefully designed to bring an integrated solution that addresses this situation. We will continue to listen to feedback and suggestions, because we want to make an impact where you are..
Our What
We have spent much time and effort in creating valuable Calendars, in which you not only lay out the different areas of your life more effectively, but also plan and share events with others easily in SubCalendars. They get their own Calendars too.
The great thing is that you can add your own public or private Events to Calendars and easily place them on a Map for others to see. You can choose to make different Calendars public (to promote events) or private (for family or personal events). Equally, the content on Maps will be private or public, according to your choice.
Our Maps are designed to be interactive. They allow you to choose either public or private events. To refine what you see, just use tags or keywords.
In addition to locating Events, there are also different types of Points of Interest that may be posted, linked to information content. This enables visitors to discover activities and places of interest wherever they be or whet they may wish to visit.
You can enabled to choose who sees the Calendars or Map Items. The visitors may be friends, contacts or subscribers.

Our How
Many people are comfortable with the convenience, facilites and usefulness of online Calendars and Maps. However, whilst we have made things as simple as we can, we recognise that it can take a little effort to learn something new.

Is this just another Social Media site?
Social Media certainly has its place. However, it seems there are too many differing voices and one can find it difficult to be certain who and where they are.
Putting something on a map makes it more substantial and inviting. Contact details are always provided. We find more value in meeting in person.

Will people see where I live?
Definitely not, we subscribe to the ICO rules on privacy. Your 'Home Point' is securely held and only used to centre the maps on a place that is most relevant to you. No-one else will see that information.
You have total control over what is seen on the maps and by whom. Our security procedures follow the highest standard.

How can I do something that is not clear to me?
We are continuing to compile sort videos to show you different things that you can do. Some ways that people use calendars and maps are quite imaginative. We intend to keep everyone informed of the latest ideas
